About Me

SUSAN FELTON ORTON has always been around books and kids her whole life. Her first best friends were Nancy Drew, Mary Poppins and Pippi Longstocking. She then took care of kids starting with her siblings before enfolding the entire neighborhood as their babysitter. She actually had a booming summer recreation program in her family's backyard for surrounding neighborhoods when she was twelve years old. These experiences sowed the passion and the seeds for children, books and learning.
In her first career, Susan was an elementary school teacher and principal. She loved her years in the classroom with children of all ages. She thought every day was a good day, because when you add a child to the mix that's just what happens. You laugh, you smile, you dig into learning and you have hope for the future.
Now you can find Susan at home writing books for more children. She always told her students that was what she wanted to be when she grew up - an author of children's books. She is still learning. She's rolled up her sleeves, put in the work and continues on her path of kids and books - living the dream.
